Our Story
We moved to the Vail Valley because we fell in love with it. Simple as that. The mountains, the seasons, the pace of life, the people. We came here, we started a family, and we built a business — in that order.
We’ve been doing floors in this valley since 2004. In that time, we’ve tried a few different versions of this business. We’ve worked for the big stores. We’ve had the showroom. We’ve tried to scale up. And every single time, we came back to the same truth: keep it small, keep it simple, keep it professional.
Why We Stay Small on Purpose
We stay small because that’s how we do our best work. When you call us, you get us. When we say we’ll be there on Tuesday, we’re there on Tuesday. When we tell you a certain species won’t hold up in your home at this altitude — we mean it, even if it means we sell you something less expensive.
We don’t have a giant sales floor, and we don’t have a 15-person sales team. We have a warehouse in Eagle where you can see and touch every product we carry. We’d rather spend an hour helping you make the right choice than five minutes pressuring you into the wrong one.
We’ve always believed that if we take care of people honestly, the business takes care of itself. Twenty years later, that’s still true.
What We Know About Floors at 8,000 Feet
We know what floors work in this valley and what floors don't.
We know what happens to solid hardwood when the humidity drops to 12% in January. We know which engineered products handle radiant heat and which ones won’t survive their first winter. We know the difference between a finish that looks beautiful in a showroom and one that still looks beautiful after five years of ski boots and wet dogs.
We didn’t learn this from a catalog. We learned it by living here, working here, and standing behind every floor we’ve ever installed in this valley.
We’re certified by the National Wood Flooring Association. We’ve trained in Denmark with some of the best wood finishing craftsmen in the world. We’ve studied species and finishes across more than ten countries. But the education we value most is the one this valley gave us — twenty years of understanding exactly what these mountain homes need.
Our Promise
Our approach has never changed since the day we started. Every project, every client, every floor:
We listen to you.
Your home. Your life. Your priorities. We start there.
We give you the best option at a fair price.
Not the most expensive option. Not the cheapest. The right one — for your home, your climate, your life, and your budget.
We tell you everything you need to know — before you decide.
No surprises. No fine print. No "we should have mentioned that earlier." You get the full picture upfront so you can make the right call with confidence.
We're honest with you.
If something won't work in your home, we'll say so. If there's a better option that costs less, we'll tell you that too.
We show up when we say we will
This one shouldn't be remarkable, but in this industry it is. If we say Tuesday at 8, we're there Tuesday at 8.
Our Valley, Our Family
We raised two kids in this valley. They grew up here. They went to school here. They learned to ski here.
This place isn’t just where we work — it’s home.
We see our clients at City Market. We cheer next to them at the 4th of July parade. We ride the same chairlifts. Our kids know their kids. That kind of proximity keeps you honest. You simply can’t cut corners when you’re going to run into your client at the grocery store next Tuesday.
We don’t want to cut corners. We never have. We want to keep doing what we’ve been doing for twenty years — helping the people in this valley have beautiful homes at fair prices.
Let's Talk About Your Floors
You don’t need a sales pitch. You need someone who knows this valley, knows these homes, and will give you a straight answer.
That’s us. Give us a call or drop us a note. We’ll give you our honest take — no pressure, no obligation. Just neighbors who know wood.
